Wake Up With Bo Jackson In The 1989 All Star Game

In honor of the Kansas City Royals putting the American League All Star team on their back last night, here’s another great Kansas City Royals All Star Game moment — Bo Jackson murdering a leadoff home run in the 1989 All Star Game. Gun to my head, I would not have guessed that this was his only All Star Game selection. Unfortunately for him, and for us as baseball fans, it was.

I didn’t even think about this until I just watched this video, but why didn’t they let Vin Scully call an inning of the All Star Game last night? Would’ve been a nice touch as part of his final season in the broadcast booth. Big swing and a miss by Major League Baseball there. Anyway, today is the worst sports day of the year. There isn’t a single baseball game on the schedule today, or any other major sports in general for that matter, so prepare yourselves for the longest 24 hours of the year. We’re gonna get through this.
